Yard and garden

The Ahlman yard is without compare. The old buildings, verdant meadows and rural atmosphere entrance with their individuality. The noble, nineteenth-century threshing cabin still watches over the yard, and the same sprightly apple trees still blossom in the garden as they did 100 years ago.

The inviting apple orchard is a good place to unwind at the end of the day. The scents, colours, and peaceful environment enliven the mind. The produce of this large garden once made it possible for a home economics schools to function self-sufficiently, and today we still make our Ahlman apple sauces from the fruits of our own garden. At the grill at the back of the garden you can enjoy your own snacks in a large group.

In summer 2014 a traditional yard opened in the Ahlman yard: this is an exhibition area of traditional plants and local, Pirkanmaa gardening culture that is open to all. In the traditional yard, which is built to be accessible, disabled visitors can also enjoy the beautiful surroundings and invigorating fragrances.

The traditional yard has an outdoor classroom, which you can inquire about hiring at the Manor reception. The large Ahlman yard area offers experiences for all the senses and is adaptable for lots of activities and uses. The area has ample free parking.
